Godly Play is a Christian Education curriculum for children ages 3-11. Godly Play teaches children how to worship using religious language: parable, sacred story, silence and liturgical actions to help interpret what happens in their daily lives. Godly Play was developed and classroom tested for more that twenty years by Episcopal priest, author and teacher Jerome Berryman.
Patterned from the Montessori method of using manipulatives to tell the story, the storyteller uses wondering questions (I Wonder...) to help the children reflect on the story. The Godly Play method is currently used in churches of many denominations throughout the United States and Canada.
